This cover was carried on the Jupiter experimental balloon flight by the aviator pioneer John Wise which took place from Lafayette to Crawfordsville, Indiana as early as August 17, 1859. It is acknowledged to be the first air mailed cover of the United States and surprisingly is the only surviving cover from the 123 items taken on the flight. 1853 Folded cover from Pointe-a-Pitre remarkably franked with ten examples of the Ceres first issue 1 Franc plus two 25c paying a seven times rate to Paris. A spectacular item.

The portrait for Sardinia's first issue is that of Victor-Emmanuel II, future King of Italy. The 20 centimes in blue is one of the three values. Here is exhibited the unique complete sheet of this stamp coming from the Rothschild and Bolaffi collection. It is one more great Italian rarity.

The world famous first stamps to be issued in Mauritius in 1847, bear the inscription "Post Office" instead of "Post Paid", a "mistake" corrected by the engraver Barnard in the very next issue. The One Penny orange-red unused stamp here presented is one of only two known, and the Two Pence blue is one of the four existing stamps. This is the most renowned set of stamps in the world.

Russian Post Office in Jaffa 1874. Jaffa single circle dated postmark. 5K Russian Levant issue of 1872 tied by box postmark Jaffa P.P. blue. The cover travelled from Jaffa 3 September 1874 to Beirut with Russian post arrival postmark 4 September 1874 (on back). One of the greatest rarities from the Russian Post Office.
